Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Kaos LED ceiling light need an electrician to install?
Yes, this is a mains-wired ceiling light that connects directly to your household electrical circuit, so it must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with Part P of the Building Regulations. The fitting mounts flush to the ceiling using the supplied screws and plugs, and connects to your existing ceiling rose or junction box. If you're replacing an existing ceiling light in the same position, the job is typically straightforward for a professional.
Can I replace the LED bulbs in this ceiling light?
No, the Kaos features integrated LEDs that are built permanently into the fitting and cannot be replaced. The LED modules are designed to last approximately 25,000–30,000 hours (around 15–20 years of typical domestic use), so you won't need to worry about changing bulbs. When the LEDs eventually reach the end of their life, the entire fitting would need replacing.
How do I switch between warm white and cool white?
The colour temperature is controlled by a physical switch on the fitting itself, letting you select between 3000K (warm white), 4000K (natural white), or 6000K (cool white). You'll need to set your preferred colour temperature during installation or by accessing the fitting directly — it's not controlled by your wall switch. Once set, the light will remember your choice each time you turn it on.
Is this ceiling light bright enough for a kitchen or living room?
Yes, at 2,460 lumens this provides substantial brightness suitable for main room lighting in kitchens, living rooms, or dining rooms up to approximately 15–20 square metres. The 24W output delivers the equivalent illumination of a traditional 150W+ incandescent bulb, with even distribution thanks to the drum-shaped diffuser. For very large open-plan spaces, you may want to consider pairing it with additional lighting.
What are the dimensions and how much clearance does it need?
The Kaos measures 410mm (41cm) in diameter and is a flush-mount design, meaning it sits directly against the ceiling with minimal projection — typically 8–10cm depth including the fitting body. You'll need adequate ceiling void depth (usually 10cm minimum) to accommodate the driver and wiring connections. The 40cm diameter makes it well-proportioned for rooms between 10–20 square metres.
Is this ceiling light dimmable?
No, this fitting is not dimmable. The integrated LEDs operate at full 2,460-lumen brightness when switched on, though you can adjust the colour temperature between 3000K and 6000K to create different atmospheres. If dimming is essential for your room, you would need to consider a different ceiling light with dimming capability.
