A little magic after dark.
The exposed-bulb Luminar takes the same precision-machined Danish cylinder as the spotlight and opens it up, letting the filament sit proud of the fitting so the bulb becomes the ornament. In browned brass, a darkened antique-leaning tone, it throws a warm, decorative glow above and below the fixture — pair it with a spiral or globe filament bulb and it works as much as wall jewellery as it does a light source. Equally at home flanking a bed, lining a hallway or running along the back of a bar.
Made by Rama Lights in Copenhagen from solid browned brass, the ribbed head rotates 330° and tilts 90°, so you can angle the glow exactly where you want it. The box mount bracket fixes flush to the wall with a 60mm diameter x 30mm rose, and the fixture itself measures 50mm diameter x 100mm. Takes one E27 bulb up to 60W (not included) and dims with a compatible dimmer. Hardwired, indoor use only.

Does the Luminar box mount wall lamp need to be installed by an electrician?
Yes, as this is a hardwired Class I fitting connecting directly to mains circuits, it must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK Building Regulations Part P. The fitting mounts to a standard wall box or BESA box and requires an earth connection. If you're simply replacing an existing wall light on the same circuit, a competent person may do the work, but notifiable new circuits always require certification.
What bulb do I need for this wall lamp and is it included?
The Luminar uses a standard E27 ES (Edison Screw) bulb up to 60W, which is not included. As the bulb sits exposed and proud of the fitting, decorative filament bulbs work particularly well — spiral, globe, or traditional squirrel-cage styles in warm white (2200K-2700K) complement the browned brass finish. Choose an LED filament bulb for energy efficiency and longer life.
Can this wall light be dimmed?
Yes, the Luminar is dimmable when fitted with a dimmable E27 bulb and connected to a trailing edge dimmer switch. Trailing edge dimmers are designed for LED and low-wattage bulbs and prevent flickering or buzzing. Always check your chosen bulb is marked as dimmable, as non-dimmable LEDs will not work on dimmer circuits.
What are the dimensions of this wall lamp and how much space does it need?
The fitting measures 100mm high, 60mm wide, and has a diameter of 50mm, making it compact enough for hallways, corridors, or flanking mirrors and doorways. Because the bulb sits exposed beyond the cylinder, you'll need to account for the bulb's own dimensions — a typical large globe or spiral filament bulb may extend the overall depth to around 150-180mm from the wall.
Can I use this browned brass wall light in a bathroom?
No, the Luminar has an IP20 rating, meaning it offers no moisture protection and is suitable for dry indoor areas only. UK bathroom regulations require minimum IP44 (often IP65) for zones 1 and 2 near showers and baths. This fitting is ideal for living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, or dining areas.
What warranty does this wall lamp come with?
The Luminar box mount wall lamp is covered by a 2-year manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty covers the brass fitting itself but does not extend to bulbs, which are consumable items. Keep your proof of purchase for any warranty claims.
