Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this wall spotlight need to be installed by an electrician?
Yes, the Luminar is hardwired and requires connection to your mains electrical supply, which is notifiable work under Part P of the Building Regulations in England and Wales. You'll need a qualified electrician to install it safely and certify the work. The fitting is Class I, so it must be earthed during installation.
What type of bulb does this spotlight take and is one included?
This fitting takes a single GU10 bulb with a maximum wattage of 60W, but no bulb is included in the box. GU10 is a standard twist-and-lock bulb widely available in the UK, and you can choose LED, halogen, or other GU10 types to suit your preferred brightness and colour temperature.
Can this brass wall spotlight be dimmed?
Yes, the Luminar is dimmable when fitted with a dimmable GU10 bulb and connected to a compatible dimmer switch. You'll need a trailing edge dimmer for best performance, particularly if using LED GU10 bulbs, as this type prevents flickering and extends bulb life.
Can I use this spotlight in a bathroom?
No, this spotlight has an IP20 rating, which means it's only suitable for dry indoor environments and offers no protection against moisture. Bathrooms require higher IP ratings (typically IP44 or above depending on the zone), so this fitting is not appropriate for bathroom use.
How far does the spotlight stick out from the wall?
The fitting is 60mm wide (front to back from the wall), with a diameter of 50mm and height of 100mm. This compact box mount design keeps a low profile while the adjustable head allows you to direct light precisely where needed without protruding significantly into the room.
What warranty does this wall spotlight come with?
The Luminar comes with a 2-year manufacturer's warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. The solid brass construction is built to last, and the warranty provides peace of mind for this investment piece.
The Enso Standard
Anyone can sell you a light.
We’d rather sell you the right one.
Lighting, considered.
Chosen, not stocked
For every piece here, we passed on hundreds. If a fitting doesn’t earn its place, it isn’t here.
Curation is mostly the art of saying no.
From Europe’s quiet workshops
Copenhagen brass, Milanese plaster, hand-woven French rattan — small independent design houses, named by place, plainly.
Designed in Europe. Named honestly.
Nothing left to guess
Every dimension, bulb, IP rating and install note published before you buy — you and your electrician know exactly what arrives.
The spec sheet is the love letter.
Backed, properly
Two-year warranty as standard, 30-day returns. If something isn’t right, we’d rather know — and put it right.
A fitting should outlast the fashion that chose it.
