Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Mykonos corner wall light need to be installed by an electrician?
Yes, this is a hardwired wall light that must be connected directly to your mains electrical supply, so it requires installation by a qualified electrician. Under UK Building Regulations Part P, any new or altered fixed wiring in a dwelling must be installed by a certified professional or notified to Building Control. The installation difficulty is rated as moderate, and the fitting mounts to plasterboard, brick, or masonry walls.
What type of bulb does this corner wall light take and is one included?
The Mykonos requires one E14 SES (Small Edison Screw) bulb with a maximum wattage of 25W. A bulb is not included with the fitting, so you'll need to purchase one separately. For best results with the up and down light distribution, choose a warm white E14 bulb that emits light in multiple directions rather than a narrow spotlight beam.
Can this wall light be dimmed and what type of dimmer do I need?
Yes, this fitting is dimmable, but you'll need to use a trailing edge dimmer switch and pair it with a dimmable E14 bulb. Trailing edge dimmers are designed for modern LED and low-wattage bulbs and provide smoother, flicker-free dimming compared to older leading edge dimmers. Both the dimmer switch and the bulb must be compatible for dimming to work correctly.
Can I paint this plaster wall light to match my walls?
Yes, the Mykonos features a paintable white plaster finish that you can paint to match your existing décor. This allows the fitting to blend seamlessly into your walls or become a subtle feature in your chosen colour. Use standard interior emulsion paint and ensure the fitting is fully dry and the bulb is removed before painting.
What are the dimensions of this corner wall light?
The fitting measures 205mm in height, 205mm in width, and projects 70mm from the wall. Its square shape is specifically designed to fit into corner installations, making it ideal for transforming awkward corner angles into architectural features in hallways, landings, and living rooms.
Is this corner wall light suitable for bathrooms?
No, this wall light has an IP20 rating, which means it's only suitable for indoor dry locations and not protected against moisture. It cannot be used in bathrooms or any other areas where it may be exposed to water or high humidity. For bathroom installations, you would need a fitting with a minimum IP44 rating (or IP65 for shower zones).
