Does the Nori Linen Pendant Light require an electrician to install?
Yes, the Nori is hardwired and must be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with UK Building Regulations Part P. The fitting connects directly to your mains supply via a ceiling rose or BESA box and is rated Class I, so it requires an earth connection. While the installation itself is straightforward for a professional, DIY installation is not permitted for hardwired ceiling lights in the UK.
Can I dim this pendant light?
Yes, the Nori is dimmable when fitted with a compatible dimmable E27 bulb (sold separately). You'll need to install a trailing edge dimmer switch on the circuit to control the brightness. Note that the bulb itself must be labelled as dimmable—standard non-dimmable LED bulbs will flicker or fail to dim properly.
What type of bulb does the Nori pendant take and what's the maximum wattage?
The Nori takes a single E27 Edison screw bulb with a maximum wattage of 10W. This is the standard large screw fitting common in the UK. No bulb is included, so you'll need to purchase an E27 LED bulb separately—a 10W LED typically provides around 800-1000 lumens, which is ample for ambient lighting over a dining table or in a bedroom.
How wide and long is this pendant light, and is the cable length adjustable?
The Nori measures 50 cm in diameter and has a total drop of 1.5 metres from the ceiling to the bottom of the shade. The cable length is adjustable, so your electrician can shorten it during installation to suit your ceiling height and achieve the perfect drop over your table or seating area.
Is the Nori suitable for bathroom use?
No, this pendant is rated IP20, which means it offers no protection against moisture and is only suitable for dry indoor areas. It cannot be used in bathrooms, kitchens directly above hobs or sinks, or any other location where it may be exposed to water or steam.
What warranty does the Nori Linen Pendant come with?
The Nori is covered by a 2-year manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty applies from the date of purchase and covers the fitting itself, though it does not extend to bulbs or damage caused by incorrect installation or misuse.
