What type of bulbs does the Sabbia pendant light use and are they included?
The Sabbia requires three G9 capsule bulbs with a maximum wattage of 5W each, and bulbs are not included with the fitting. G9 bulbs are widely available in both LED and halogen versions, though we recommend LED G9s for energy efficiency and lower heat output. Make sure to choose dimmable G9 bulbs if you wish to use the dimming function.
Can this pendant light be dimmed and what type of dimmer switch is needed?
Yes, the Sabbia is dimmable when fitted with dimmable G9 bulbs. You'll need a trailing edge dimmer switch to achieve smooth, flicker-free dimming performance. Trailing edge dimmers are specifically designed for LED loads and provide better compatibility than older leading edge types.
Does this light fitting require an electrician to install?
Yes, as this is a hardwired ceiling pendant, installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK Building Regulations Part P. The installation itself is straightforward for a competent spark, suitable for plasterboard, timber joist or concrete ceilings, and typically connects to a standard ceiling rose or BESA box. The cable length is 1.5 metres and the height is adjustable during fitting.
What are the dimensions and how low will it hang in my room?
The Sabbia has a diameter of 290mm and a total drop height of 1500mm (1.5 metres) from the ceiling rose to the lowest point of the pendants. The height is adjustable during installation by shortening the cables, so you can adapt it to suit your ceiling height and ensure adequate head clearance. This makes it ideal for standard ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, particularly over dining tables or kitchen islands.
Is this pendant light suitable for bathrooms?
No, the Sabbia has an IP20 rating, which means it offers no protection against moisture and is only suitable for dry indoor areas. For bathroom use, you would need a fitting rated at least IP44 (or IP65 for shower zones), so this pendant is best suited to living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms or hallways.
What warranty does this pendant light come with?
The Sabbia pendant light is covered by a 2-year manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. The fitting is CE marked and RoHS compliant, meeting all relevant UK safety and environmental standards. Note that the warranty covers the light fitting itself; bulbs are considered consumable items and are not covered.
