What type of bulb does the Tamo bamboo pendant light take and is it included?
The Tamo uses a standard E27 Edison screw bulb with a maximum wattage of 12W. The bulb is not included, so you'll need to purchase one separately. We recommend an E27 LED bulb in warm white (2700K–3000K) to complement the natural bamboo and create a cosy ambience.
Can this pendant light be dimmed?
Yes, the Tamo is dimmable when fitted with a compatible dimmable E27 bulb. You'll need to use a trailing edge dimmer switch to control the brightness smoothly without flickering. Both the dimmer and the dimmable bulb must be installed for dimming functionality to work properly.
Do I need an electrician to install this pendant light?
Yes, as this is a hardwired ceiling pendant, installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK Building Regulations Part P. The fitting connects directly to your mains electrical supply at the ceiling and requires proper isolation and secure mounting to a suitable ceiling surface such as plasterboard with a joist, timber joist, or concrete.
What are the dimensions and is the height adjustable?
The pendant shade measures 50 cm in diameter and the total drop (including cable and fittings) is 1500 mm from the ceiling. The height is adjustable via the 1.5-metre cable, allowing you to shorten the drop to suit your ceiling height and preferred position over a dining table or in a hallway.
Can I use this bamboo pendant in a bathroom?
No, the Tamo has an IP20 rating, which means it is not protected against moisture and is only suitable for dry indoor areas. It should not be installed in bathrooms, especially not within any of the designated bathroom zones where higher IP ratings are required by the Wiring Regulations.
What warranty does this pendant light come with?
This pendant light is covered by a 2-year manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty does not cover damage caused by incorrect installation, misuse, or normal wear and tear, so always ensure installation is carried out by a qualified electrician.
