Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Apollo Gold & Glass Double Wall Light require a qualified electrician to install?
Yes, this is a hardwired wall light and must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK Building Regulations Part P. The fitting connects directly to your mains wiring, typically via a BESA box or wall-mounted backplate. DIY installation of mains-voltage lighting is not permitted unless you are qualified and competent under Part P.
What type of bulbs does this wall light use and are they included?
The Apollo uses 2 x G9 bulbs (capsule bulbs with 9mm pin spacing), which are not included with the fitting. You'll need to purchase G9 bulbs separately – look for G9 LED bulbs if you want energy efficiency and longer life. Each lampholder supports up to 3W, so ensure your bulbs don't exceed this wattage.
Is the Apollo wall light dimmable?
Yes, this fitting is dimmable, but you'll need to use dimmable G9 LED bulbs and ensure your dimmer switch is LED-compatible. Standard rotary dimmers designed for halogen bulbs often don't work well with LEDs and can cause flickering. Check that both your bulbs and dimmer switch are marked as suitable for LED dimming.
What are the dimensions of this double wall light?
The Apollo measures 415mm in height, 90mm in width, and projects 113mm from the wall. This makes it a fairly tall, linear fitting suited to flanking mirrors, running vertically beside doorways, or positioning on either side of a bed. The modest 113mm projection means it won't intrude too far into the room.
Can this gold wall light be used in a bathroom?
This wall light is rated for indoor use only and has no stated IP rating, so it is not suitable for bathroom zones where moisture protection is required. If you want to use it in a bathroom, it must be positioned well outside designated zones (typically more than 600mm from the bath or shower). For zones 1 or 2, you'd need a fitting with at least IP44 rating.
What finish and materials is the Apollo made from?
The fitting combines a gold metal frame with glass shades, giving it a contemporary yet elegant look. The gold finish is applied to the metal structure, while the glass elements diffuse the light from the G9 bulbs. This combination works well in modern, transitional, or art deco-inspired interiors where warm metallic accents are desired.
