What type of bulb does the Enju pendant light take and is it included?
The Enju uses a standard E27 screw bulb with a maximum wattage of 12W, but no bulb is included with the fitting. You'll need to purchase an E27 LED bulb separately—we recommend a warm white (2700K-3000K) dimmable LED if you want dimming functionality. The 12W limit is ideal for modern LED bulbs, which provide ample brightness at low wattages.
Can this pendant light be dimmed?
Yes, the Enju is dimmable when fitted with a compatible dimmable E27 bulb and a trailing edge dimmer switch. You'll need to install a trailing edge (not leading edge) dimmer on your lighting circuit, and ensure the bulb you purchase is marked as dimmable. Both the dimmer switch and dimmable bulb are sold separately and are essential for dimming to work properly.
Do I need an electrician to install this pendant light?
Yes, an electrician is required as this is a hardwired Class I fitting that connects directly to your mains electrical circuit. Under UK Building Regulations Part P, any new or replacement electrical work in kitchens, bathrooms, or outdoors must be carried out or certified by a qualified electrician. However, the installation itself is considered easy once the wiring is in place, suitable for plasterboard, timber joist, or concrete ceilings.
What are the dimensions and is the cable length adjustable?
The Enju measures 170mm in diameter with a total drop of 1500mm from the ceiling rose, and the cable length is adjustable so you can shorten it to suit your ceiling height. The pendant comes with a 1.5-metre cable, which can be trimmed during installation to achieve your desired hanging height. This makes it ideal for standard ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher, particularly over dining tables or kitchen islands.
Can this pendant be used in a bathroom?
No, the Enju has an IP20 rating, which means it's not protected against moisture and is only suitable for dry indoor locations. For bathroom use, you'd need a fitting rated at least IP44 (or IP65 for zones 1 and 2). This pendant is best suited to living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, hallways, or kitchens away from direct water exposure.
What warranty does this light come with?
The Enju pendant light comes with a 2-year warranty covering manufacturing defects and faults. The fitting is CE marked and RoHS compliant, meeting UK safety and environmental standards. Note that the warranty covers the light fitting itself—bulbs are typically considered consumables and are covered by their own manufacturer warranties.
