The fitting is Class I, meaning it requires an earth connection, and proper installation into a suitable ceiling rose or BESA box is essential for both safety and to maintain the IP44 rating. Installation difficulty is rated as moderate.
Is this pendant suitable for an uncovered outdoor patio or garden?
No, the Holt has an IP44 rating which protects against splashing water but is not suitable for direct exposure to rain. It's designed for covered outdoor spaces such as porches, verandas, soffits, or pergola beams where it's shielded from direct weather. For fully exposed outdoor areas, you would need a fitting with a minimum IP65 rating.
Can this pendant light be dimmed?
Yes, the Holt is dimmable when fitted with a compatible dimmable E27 bulb. You'll need to use a trailing edge dimmer switch for smooth, reliable dimming performance. Note that bulbs are not included, so you'll need to purchase a dimmable E27 LED bulb separately (maximum 12W).
What size bulb does this fitting take and is one included?
The Holt uses a standard E27 Edison Screw (ES) bulb with a maximum wattage of 12W, and bulbs are not included. We recommend an LED E27 bulb for energy efficiency and longevity. The single lampholder accommodates most standard E27 bulb shapes, though a decorative filament bulb works particularly well with the industrial glass panel design.
What are the exact dimensions and can the drop height be adjusted?
The pendant measures 188mm wide, 148mm deep, and 930mm in total height including the suspension chain. The height is adjustable, allowing you to shorten the chain to suit your ceiling height and porch proportions. The square aluminium frame with glass panels creates a compact footprint ideal for covered entryways and smaller outdoor seating areas.
