Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Do I need an electrician to install the Kaos ceiling light?
Yes, as this is a hardwired ceiling fitting, installation must comply with Building Regulations Part P. Unless you're a competent person registered with a self-certification scheme, you'll need a qualified electrician to carry out the work and issue the necessary certification. The fitting comes with mounting screws, plugs, and full installation instructions for your electrician to follow.
Can I replace the LED bulbs in this ceiling light?
No, the Kaos uses integrated LEDs which are built into the fitting and cannot be replaced separately. The integrated LED module is rated at 40W and produces 4,125 lumens, designed to last many thousands of hours. When the LEDs eventually reach end of life, the entire fitting would need replacing, though this is typically after 15-25 years of normal domestic use.
How do I change between the different colour temperatures?
The colour temperature is controlled by a wall switch sequence—simply turn the light off and back on at the wall switch to cycle through 3000K (warm white), 4000K (neutral white), and 6000K (cool white). The fitting remembers your last selection, so once set to your preferred colour temperature, it will stay on that setting until you cycle through again. No app or additional controls are required.
Is this ceiling light dimmable?
The product specifications do not indicate dimming capability, so this fitting should be treated as non-dimmable. It operates as a switch-only light with the colour temperature switching function. Installing it on a dimmer circuit could cause flickering, buzzing, or damage to the LED driver.
What size room is the 50cm Kaos suitable for?
