Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Does the Kiyomi travertine pendant light require an electrician to install?
Yes, this is a hardwired pendant fitting and must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK Building Regulations Part P. The installation involves connecting mains wiring directly to the fitting, which is classed as notifiable electrical work. While the fitting itself is rated as 'easy' to install for a professional, it's not suitable for DIY installation unless you're a competent person registered with a scheme provider.
What type of bulb does this pendant take and is one included?
The Kiyomi uses a single G9 capsule bulb with a maximum wattage of 5W, and no bulb is included with the fitting. You'll need to purchase a G9 LED bulb separately—we'd recommend a warm white (2700K-3000K) dimmable G9 to complement the travertine and frosted glass. G9 bulbs are compact bi-pin capsules commonly available in supermarkets and lighting retailers.
Can this travertine pendant light be dimmed?
Yes, the fitting is dimmable when used with a compatible dimmable G9 bulb and a trailing edge dimmer switch. The pendant itself supports dimming, but you must ensure both your bulb and dimmer are suitable—standard non-dimmable LED bulbs will flicker or fail to dim properly. Trailing edge dimmers are designed for LED loads and provide smoother, more reliable dimming than leading edge types.
What are the dimensions and cable length of this pendant?
The glass globe measures 250mm in diameter with an overall height of 170mm from the travertine cap to the base of the shade. The suspension cable is 1.3 metres long, giving you flexibility for ceiling heights, though you may need to shorten it during installation if you have lower ceilings. The compact 25cm diameter makes it ideal for smaller spaces like breakfast bars, hallways, or clustered over a dining table.
Is this pendant light suitable for bathrooms?
No, this fitting has an IP20 rating, meaning it offers no moisture protection and is only suitable for dry indoor areas. UK bathroom lighting requires minimum IP44 rating in zones 1 and 2, so the Kiyomi should only be used in bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms, hallways, and kitchens away from direct water sources. For bathroom use, you'd need a purpose-designed IP-rated pendant.
What warranty comes with this travertine and glass pendant?
The fitting comes with a 2-year manufacturer's warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty is valid from the date of purchase and covers the electrical components, travertine cap, glass shade, and hardware, but does not cover bulbs or damage caused by incorrect installation. The product is CE marked and RoHS compliant, meeting UK safety and environmental standards.
