Leoni

Yes, as a hardwired wall light, the Leoni must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK Building Regulations Part P. The fitting will typically mount to a standard wall backplate or BESA box. If you're replacing an existing wall light in the same location, the installation is usually straightforward, but any new electrical work or circuit modifications must be certified.

The product specifications don't list a specific bulb cap type or maximum wattage, so you'll need to check the manufacturer's label on the fitting itself or contact us for confirmation before purchase. Most traditional antique brass and glass wall lights use either E27 (Edison Screw) or E14 (Small Edison Screw) bulbs, but it's essential to verify this and the maximum wattage to ensure safe operation.

This fitting is rated for indoor use only, with no IP rating specified, which means it's not suitable for bathroom zones where moisture protection is required. UK bathroom regulations require specific IP ratings (typically IP44 or higher) for lights installed in zones 1 and 2. The Leoni is best suited for dry indoor areas such as hallways, living rooms, or bedrooms.

Dimming capability depends on the type of bulb you install, as the specifications don't indicate a built-in dimming function in the fitting itself. If you use a dimmable LED or incandescent bulb and have a compatible dimmer switch installed on the circuit, the Leoni should dim successfully. Always check that your bulb is marked as dimmable and matches your dimmer type to avoid flickering or buzzing.

The product specifications provided don't include exact dimensions. We recommend contacting us directly before purchase if you need to confirm the height, width, and projection from the wall to ensure the fitting suits your space. Antique brass and glass wall lights of this style typically project 15-25cm from the wall.

The Leoni's antique brass and glass construction makes it ideal for traditional or period-style interiors in hallways, living rooms, dining rooms, and bedrooms. Its rectangular shape and classic finish work particularly well in pairs flanking a mirror, fireplace, or along a corridor. As it's indoor-only with no IP rating, avoid installing it in bathrooms, kitchens near sinks, or any damp environments.
