1× G9 LED light bulb 2.2W
Good to know
A few questions,
before it comes home.
Is this G9 LED bulb compatible with dimmer switches?
Yes, the Lumi 2.2W G9 LED bulb is fully dimmable. You'll need a trailing edge (electronic) dimmer switch rather than a leading edge type, as LED bulbs perform best with trailing edge dimmers. If you experience flickering or limited dimming range, check that your dimmer is rated for low-wattage LED loads.
What colour temperature does this G9 bulb produce?
This bulb emits a warm white light at 2700K, which creates a cosy, inviting glow similar to traditional halogen bulbs. The 2700K colour temperature is ideal for living rooms, bedrooms, and dining areas where you want a relaxing atmosphere rather than a clinical white light.
Can I use this G9 LED bulb in my bathroom light fitting?
No, this bulb has an IP20 rating, which means it's only suitable for general indoor use in dry locations. For bathroom zones 1 and 2 (areas near the shower, bath, or sink), you'll need lighting with a minimum rating of IP44 or higher to protect against water splashes.
How much energy does this 2.2W G9 LED save compared to halogen?
This 2.2W LED bulb replaces a traditional 20-25W halogen G9, reducing energy consumption by around 90%. Over the bulb's lifetime, you'll save significantly on electricity costs whilst producing the same warm white light output, making it both cost-effective and environmentally friendly.
What is the physical size of this G9 LED bulb?
G9 bulbs use a standardised two-pin fitting with 9mm spacing between pins, and this LED version is designed as a compact capsule bulb to fit most G9 light fittings. The exact dimensions aren't listed, but G9 LEDs are typically around 50-55mm long and 15-20mm diameter, making them significantly smaller than standard bayonet or screw bulbs.
Will this G9 bulb fit my existing halogen light fixture?
Yes, G9 is a standard fitting type, so this LED bulb will fit directly into any fixture designed for G9 bulbs. Simply push the two pins into the socket until they click into place. As this LED draws only 2.2W compared to 20-25W halogens, it will run much cooler and put less strain on your existing fixture.
