Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Yes, the Luminar is hardwired and must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK Building Regulations Part P. The spotlight connects to a track system which itself requires mains connection, making this a notifiable electrical installation. Installation difficulty is rated as moderate, and full instructions are included in the box.
What GU10 bulb do I need for this track spotlight?
This fitting takes a single GU10 bulb up to 60W maximum, which is not included. For a warm white colour temperature to complement the brass finish, look for a GU10 LED bulb rated 2700K–3000K. Since the fitting is dimmable with a trailing edge dimmer, ensure you choose a dimmable GU10 bulb if you plan to use dimming controls.
Can I dim this brass track spotlight?
Yes, the Luminar is fully dimmable when used with a trailing edge dimmer switch and a dimmable GU10 bulb. Trailing edge dimmers are specifically designed for LED and low-voltage lamps, providing smooth, flicker-free dimming. Both the dimmer switch and a compatible dimmable bulb must be purchased separately.
