Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Frequently Asked Questions
What type of bulbs does the Mood wall light use and are they included?
The Mood uses G9 capsule bulbs with a maximum wattage of 25W per lampholder. Bulbs are not included, so you'll need to purchase two G9 bulbs separately. We recommend LED G9 bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) to complement the fixture's design and keep running costs low.
Can this wall light be dimmed and what type of dimmer do I need?
Yes, the fitting is dimmable provided you use dimmable G9 bulbs. You'll need a trailing edge dimmer switch, which is designed for LED and low-wattage bulbs and prevents flickering or buzzing. Standard leading edge dimmers are not suitable and may damage LED bulbs or cause poor performance.
Does the Mood wall light need to be installed by an electrician?
Yes, a qualified electrician is required as this is a hardwired Class I fitting that must comply with Part P Building Regulations in England and Wales. The installation difficulty is moderate and involves connecting to mains wiring, typically via a BESA box or direct wall connection. DIY installation is not recommended unless you're a competent person under Part P.
What are the dimensions and how far does it project from the wall?
The Mood measures 350mm wide, 150mm high, and projects 80mm from the wall. Its wide, low-profile rectangular shape makes it ideal for hallways, living rooms, or above furniture where you want dramatic up-and-down lighting without the fitting protruding too far into the space.
Can I paint this wall light to match my walls?
Yes, the Mood is made from white plaster specifically designed to be paintable. You can use standard emulsion paint to match your wall colour, allowing the fitting to blend seamlessly into your décor or remain white as a sculptural feature. Ensure the paint is fully dry before installing bulbs and switching on.
Is this wall light suitable for bathrooms?
No, the Mood has an IP20 rating, which means it's only suitable for dry indoor locations with no moisture exposure. It cannot be used in bathrooms or any zones near water sources. For bathroom installation, you'd need a wall light with a minimum IP44 rating.
