Does the Brixton triple pendant require an electrician to install?
Yes, this is a hardwired ceiling light and must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK Building Regulations Part P. The fitting connects directly to your mains supply via a ceiling rose or junction box, typically mounted to a standard BESA box. Installation difficulty is rated as easy for a competent electrician, and it's suitable for plasterboard, timber joist, or concrete ceilings.
What bulbs do I need for this pendant and are they included?
You'll need three E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, which are not included with the fitting. Each lampholder supports a maximum of 12W, so you could use 12W LED bulbs for bright task lighting over a dining table, or lower wattages like 6-8W for softer ambient light. The amber glass will add warmth to whatever colour temperature you choose.
Can the Brixton pendant be dimmed?
Yes, the Brixton is dimmable when fitted with dimmable E27 bulbs. You'll need to use a trailing edge dimmer switch (not included) for smooth, flicker-free dimming with LED bulbs. Standard incandescent or halogen bulbs will also dim, but LED bulbs are recommended to stay within the 12W maximum wattage per lampholder.
What are the dimensions and is the cable length adjustable?
The fitting measures 440mm in diameter with a maximum drop of 1200mm from ceiling to the base of the glass shades. The cable length is adjustable, so you can shorten it during installation to suit your ceiling height – ideal for achieving the right clearance over a dining table or kitchen island. The 1.2 metre cable provides plenty of flexibility for most spaces.
Is this pendant suitable for a bathroom?
No, the Brixton has an IP20 rating, meaning it offers basic protection against solid objects but no protection against moisture. It's designed for dry indoor locations only and should not be installed in bathrooms, where higher IP ratings (typically IP44 or above) are required by UK wiring regulations.
What warranty does this pendant come with?
The Brixton comes with a 2-year manufacturer's warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty is standard for decorative lighting fittings and covers the metalwork, glass shades, and electrical components, giving you peace of mind on your purchase.
