Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Does the Isamu stone-effect pendant light require an electrician to install?
Yes, this is a hardwired pendant fitting and must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK Building Regulations Part P. The fitting connects directly to your mains supply via a ceiling rose or junction box, typically mounted to plasterboard, timber joists, or concrete ceilings. Installation is classed as easy for a professional, with a 2-metre suspension cable included.
Can this pendant light be dimmed?
Yes, the Isamu is dimmable when fitted with a compatible dimmable E27 bulb (not included). You'll need a trailing edge dimmer switch installed to control the brightness smoothly. Bear in mind that dimming performance depends on the quality of the bulb you choose, so opt for a reputable dimmable LED for best results.
What size bulb does this pendant take and what's the maximum wattage?
This fitting uses a standard E27 screw bulb (also called ES or Edison Screw) with a maximum wattage of 7W. No bulb is included, so you'll need to purchase one separately. A 7W LED is more than adequate for ambient or task lighting and equates to roughly 60W incandescent equivalent.
How big is the Isamu pendant and will it suit a standard dining table?
The pendant measures 480mm wide and 380mm deep, making it a substantial statement piece ideal for dining tables up to around 1.8 metres long or spacious hallways. Its organic, sculptural shape and matt white stone-effect finish work particularly well in minimalist or Japandi-style interiors. The 2-metre cable allows flexible height adjustment during installation.
Is this pendant light suitable for bathrooms?
No, the Isamu has an IP20 rating, meaning it offers no moisture protection and is only suitable for dry indoor areas. It cannot be used in bathrooms or any zone-rated wet areas. Stick to living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, or hallways where there's no risk of water ingress.
