Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Questions
Does the Kiro ceramic wall light need to be installed by an electrician?
Yes, the Kiro is hardwired into your mains supply and must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with Part P of the Building Regulations. The fitting will typically connect to a standard BESA box or backplate behind the wall. While you can remove or replace the fitting yourself once installed, initial wiring must be done by a competent person.
Can I dim the Kiro Burnt Orange wall light?
Yes, the Kiro is dimmable, but you'll need to use a dimmable G9 bulb (sold separately) and ensure you have a compatible dimmer switch installed. LED G9 bulbs require a trailing-edge or LED-compatible dimmer for smooth, flicker-free dimming — older rotary or leading-edge dimmers designed for halogen bulbs may cause buzzing or limited dimming range. Check your bulb and dimmer specifications match for best results.
What size G9 bulb fits the Kiro Small, and how bright should it be?
The Kiro takes a single standard G9 capsule bulb (not included). Given its cone shade design that washes light up and down the wall rather than into the room, a 3–4W LED G9 (around 300–400 lumens) is typically sufficient for ambient wall lighting. The fitting's 120mm depth and ceramic shade provide gentle, diffused illumination rather than task lighting.
What are the exact dimensions of the Kiro Small wall light?
The Small Kiro measures 205mm wide, 165mm tall, and projects 120mm from the wall. At 700g it's relatively lightweight, making it suitable for mounting on most wall types including plasterboard with appropriate fixings. The cone-shaped ceramic shade is the dominant visual element, creating a soft sculptural presence on the wall.
Can this burnt orange ceramic wall light be used in a bathroom?
No, the Kiro has an IP20 rating, which means it's not protected against moisture and must only be used in dry interior locations. For bathrooms, you'd need a minimum of IP44 (or IP65 in shower zones), so this fitting is best suited to hallways, living rooms, bedrooms, or dining areas.
Does the light shine into the room or just wash the wall?
The Kiro's cone-shaped shade directs light primarily upwards and downwards onto the wall itself, creating a soft wash of illumination above and below the fitting. It doesn't project light outward into the room, so it works as atmospheric accent or ambient lighting rather than a reading light or task light. This makes it ideal for creating mood lighting in hallways, beside beds, or flanking artwork.
