01 / The feeling
Lovely by day.
A little magic after dark.
Hand-cast in a small Portuguese studio, the Kiro is a wall light that behaves more like a piece of ceramics than a fitting. Its cone-shaped shade throws light both up and down, washing the wall above and below in a soft, glare-free glow rather than pointing a beam into the room. In Midnight Green — a deep forest green — it reads as quiet architecture by day and turns into a warm band of light after dark.
Patrícia Lobo casts, paints and glazes every Kiro by hand at LOBO Atelier, so slight variations in tone and surface are part of the piece and no two are quite the same. The Large measures 235mm wide x 135mm deep x 200mm high and takes one G9 bulb up to 40W (a 4W LED is ideal, bulb not included), dimmable with a dimmable bulb and compatible dimmer. Hardwired for indoor wall mounting. Made to order in Portugal.

Good to know
A few questions,
before it comes home.
Does the Kiro Ceramic Wall Light need to be installed by an electrician?
Yes, the Kiro is hardwired directly into the mains and must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK Building Regulations Part P. It's designed to mount onto a standard BESA box or backplate. Installation involves connecting to fixed mains wiring, so this isn't suitable for DIY unless you're a certified competent person.
Can I use a dimmer switch with this wall light?
Yes, the Kiro is dimmable, but you'll need to pair it with a dimmable G9 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch on your wall circuit. Not all G9 LED bulbs dim smoothly, so look for one explicitly labelled as dimmable and check it's compatible with your dimmer type (leading-edge or trailing-edge). The fitting itself supports dimming, but performance depends entirely on your bulb and dimmer combination.
What type of bulb does the Kiro wall light take and is one included?
The Kiro uses a single G9 capsule bulb, which is not included and must be purchased separately. G9 bulbs are widely available in both halogen and LED versions; we recommend a dimmable LED G9 for energy efficiency. The compact G9 fitting sits inside the ceramic shade, so bulb length typically isn't an issue.
What are the exact dimensions of the large Midnight Green Kiro?
The large Kiro measures 235mm wide, 200mm high, and projects 135mm from the wall. It weighs 900g, so it's substantial enough to need secure fixing into a solid surface or proper wall anchors. The cone-shaped shade throws light upwards and downwards along the wall rather than outwards into the room.
Can this wall light be used in a bathroom?
No, the Kiro has an IP20 rating, which means it's not protected against moisture and is only suitable for dry interior spaces. For bathroom use, you'd need a fitting rated at least IP44 (or IP65 for shower zones). The Kiro is ideal for hallways, living rooms, bedrooms, or dining areas where moisture isn't a concern.
How much light does this wall light produce?
Light output depends entirely on the G9 bulb you choose, as the fitting has one lampholder and bulbs are sold separately. A typical LED G9 produces between 200–470 lumens, which is ideal for accent or ambient wall-washing rather than task lighting. The cone shade directs light up and down the wall, creating a soft glow rather than bright illumination, so it works best as atmospheric or secondary lighting.
