A little magic after dark.
Hand-cast in a small Portuguese studio, the Kiro is a wall light that behaves more like a piece of ceramics than a fitting. Its cone-shaped shade throws light both up and down, washing the wall above and below in a soft, glare-free glow rather than pointing a beam into the room. In Rainstorm Grey — a cool mineral grey — it reads as quiet architecture by day and turns into a warm band of light after dark.
Patrícia Lobo casts, paints and glazes every Kiro by hand at LOBO Atelier, so slight variations in tone and surface are part of the piece and no two are quite the same. The Large measures 235mm wide x 135mm deep x 200mm high and takes one G9 bulb up to 40W (a 4W LED is ideal, bulb not included), dimmable with a dimmable bulb and compatible dimmer. Hardwired for indoor wall mounting. Made to order in Portugal.

Does the Kiro ceramic wall light need to be installed by an electrician?
Yes, the Kiro is a hardwired fitting and must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with Part P of the Building Regulations. It will need to be connected directly to your mains wiring, typically via a BESA box or standard backplate mounted on the wall. This is not a plug-in fixture and cannot be installed without proper electrical qualifications.
Can this wall light be dimmed?
Yes, the Kiro is dimmable, but you'll need to fit a compatible dimmable G9 LED bulb (sold separately) and use it with a trailing-edge dimmer switch designed for LED loads. Standard rotary dimmers intended for halogen bulbs may cause flickering or buzzing, so check that your dimmer is LED-compatible for smooth, flicker-free control.
What type of bulb does the Kiro wall light take and is it included?
The Kiro uses a single G9 capsule bulb, which is not included with the fitting. G9 bulbs are widely available in various wattages and colour temperatures—we recommend a warm white LED G9 (2700K–3000K) for a cosy glow. Make sure to choose a dimmable version if you plan to use a dimmer switch.
What are the dimensions of the large Rainstorm Grey Kiro wall light?
The large Kiro measures 235mm wide, 200mm high, and projects 135mm from the wall. It weighs 900g, so it has a substantial ceramic presence on the wall. These dimensions make it well-suited to larger hallways, living rooms, or either side of a bed in a generous bedroom.
Can I use the Kiro ceramic wall light in a bathroom?
No, the Kiro is rated IP20, which means it's only suitable for dry interior locations and offers no protection against moisture. It cannot be used in bathrooms or any other areas where it might be exposed to steam, splashes, or damp conditions. For bathrooms, you'll need a fitting rated at least IP44 or higher depending on the zone.
Does this wall light cast light into the room or just up and down the wall?
The Kiro's cone-shaped ceramic shade is designed to throw light both upwards and downwards onto the wall rather than projecting a beam into the room. This creates a soft, glare-free wash of ambient light ideal for hallways, bedrooms, or living rooms where you want subtle architectural illumination without direct glare.
