Product Care Guide

Plaster

Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.

Brass & metal

Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.

Glass

Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.

Fabric shades

Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.

Ceramic

Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.

Before you clean

Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Up & Down Wall Wash

The cone-shaped ceramic shade directs soft light both upwards and downwards, creating gentle washes of illumination that trace the wall surface above and below the fitting. This balanced glow provides ambient lighting whilst the handcrafted form becomes a decorative focal point, ideal for hallways, living rooms, and beside beds.

Questions

Does the Kiro ceramic wall light need to be installed by an electrician?

Yes, the Kiro is hardwired, so it must be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with UK Building Regulations Part P. The fitting connects directly to your mains supply, typically via a BESA box or backplate behind the wall. This isn't a plug-in light, so professional installation is both legally required and essential for safety.

What type of bulb does the Kiro wall light take and is it included?

The Kiro takes a single G9 capsule bulb, which is not included with the fitting. G9 bulbs are readily available in LED or halogen versions from most lighting retailers. Since the fitting is dimmable, make sure to choose a dimmable G9 bulb if you're planning to use it with a dimmer switch.

Can I use the Kiro wall light with a dimmer switch?

Yes, the Kiro is dimmable, but you'll need both a compatible dimmer switch and a dimmable G9 bulb for it to work properly. LED G9 bulbs vary in their dimming performance, so it's worth choosing a good-quality dimmable version to avoid flickering or limited dimming range.

What are the exact dimensions of the small Kiro wall light?

The small Kiro measures 205mm wide, 165mm high, and projects 120mm from the wall. It weighs 700g, which is manageable for most wall types with appropriate fixings. Bear in mind the 120mm projection when considering placement near doorways or narrow hallways.

Is the Kiro suitable for use in a bathroom?

No, the Kiro has an IP20 rating, which means it's not protected against moisture and is only suitable for dry interior spaces. For bathroom use, you'd need a fitting rated at least IP44 (or IP65 for shower zones). The Kiro is ideal for living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, and dining areas.

Does the Kiro wall light produce direct glare or is it suitable for beside a bed?

The Kiro is designed to throw light up and down the wall rather than outwards into the room, so it produces very little direct glare. This makes it well-suited for bedside use, hallways, or anywhere you want ambient illumination without a harsh beam in your eyes. The cone-shaped ceramic shade creates a soft, diffused wash of light on the wall surface.

The Enso Standard

Anyone can sell you a light.
We’d rather sell you the right one.

Lighting, considered.

01

Chosen, not stocked

For every piece here, we passed on hundreds. If a fitting doesn’t earn its place, it isn’t here.

Curation is mostly the art of saying no.

02

From Europe’s quiet workshops

Copenhagen brass, Milanese plaster, hand-woven French rattan — small independent design houses, named by place, plainly.

Designed in Europe. Named honestly.

03

Nothing left to guess

Every dimension, bulb, IP rating and install note published before you buy — you and your electrician know exactly what arrives.

The spec sheet is the love letter.

04

Backed, properly

Two-year warranty as standard, 30-day returns. If something isn’t right, we’d rather know — and put it right.

A fitting should outlast the fashion that chose it.
