Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Is the Nancy wall light suitable for bathroom use and what zones is it rated for?
Yes, the Nancy is IP44-rated and approved for bathroom Zone 2, making it suitable for areas outside the immediate shower or bath enclosure. This means you can safely install it above a basin, as a general wall light, or in adjacent areas where it may be exposed to occasional moisture. It must not be installed in Zone 0 or Zone 1 (inside or directly above the bath or shower).
What type of bulb does this wall light require and is one included?
This fitting takes one E14 SES (Small Edison Screw) bulb, and no bulb is included with purchase. The E14 socket is suitable for standard candle or golf ball LED bulbs. Since the Nancy features frosted glass, you have flexibility in choosing bulb appearance—both clear and frosted E14 bulbs will work beautifully.
Can the Nancy Orb wall light be dimmed?
Yes, the fitting itself is dimmable, but you'll need to use a dimmable E14 LED bulb and have a compatible dimmer switch installed on your lighting circuit. If your existing wall switch is a standard on/off switch, you'll need an electrician to replace it with a trailing-edge LED-compatible dimmer for smooth, flicker-free dimming.
Do I need an electrician to install this hardwired wall light?
Yes, as this is a hardwired Class I fitting, installation must comply with UK Building Regulations Part P, which typically requires a qualified electrician unless you are competent and able to self-certify the work. The fitting connects directly to your mains electrical supply, usually via a BESA box or standard wall back plate, and must be properly earthed.
What are the dimensions of the Nancy and how far does it protrude from the wall?

The Nancy Orb wall light comes with a 2-year manufacturer's warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty applies from the date of purchase and is subject to normal domestic use and proper installation by a qualified electrician. The warranty does not cover bulbs, which are consumable items.
