Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Soft Downward Ambient Glow
The opal glass diffuses light downwards in a gentle, glare-free spread that creates warm ambient illumination beneath the pendant. The chrome upper hemisphere reflects light back into the fitting, preventing upward spill and concentrating the glow below—ideal for dining tables, kitchen islands, or reading nooks.

Questions
Does the Selene Spherical Pendant require an electrician to install?
Yes, this is a hardwired ceiling pendant and must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK Building Regulations Part P. The fitting connects directly to your mains ceiling rose or BESA box via the 3-metre cable supplied. DIY installation of mains lighting is not permitted unless you are qualified and can certify the work yourself.
What type of bulb does this pendant take and is it dimmable?
The Selene uses a single E27 (Edison Screw) bulb, which is not included. Yes, this fitting is dimmable, but you'll need to fit a dimmable E27 LED bulb and have a compatible dimmer switch installed on the circuit. We recommend a warm white LED globe bulb (2700K) to complement the opal glass diffuser.
What are the dimensions and how low will it hang from my ceiling?
The pendant measures 252mm in diameter and 428mm in total height from the ceiling plate to the base of the sphere. With the 3-metre cable supplied, you can adjust the drop height to suit your space—the ideal hanging height is 1.8–2.1 metres from floor to bottom of the fitting, perfect for positioning over a dining table or kitchen island.
Can I use this pendant light in a bathroom?
No, this fitting is rated IP20, which means it's only suitable for dry indoor environments with no water exposure. For bathroom use, you need a minimum of IP44 (or IP65 in shower zones), so the Selene is not appropriate for bathrooms or other moisture-prone areas.
Which rooms is this spherical pendant best suited for?
The Selene works beautifully in living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, and hallways, as well as commercial spaces like restaurants, hotels, and cafés. Its soft, diffused light and 252mm diameter make it particularly effective as a feature over dining tables, kitchen islands, or in entryways where you want an elegant focal point without harsh glare.
What warranty does this pendant come with?
This fitting is covered by a 2-year manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty covers the light fitting itself but does not extend to bulbs, which are considered consumable items, or to damage caused by incorrect installation or mains supply issues.
The Enso Standard
Anyone can sell you a light.
We’d rather sell you the right one.
Lighting, considered.
Chosen, not stocked
For every piece here, we passed on hundreds. If a fitting doesn’t earn its place, it isn’t here.
Curation is mostly the art of saying no.
Held to one standard
Copenhagen brass or precision-built LED — every piece is vetted the same way: finish, build, light quality, safety. If it doesn’t pass, it doesn’t stay.
The standard doesn’t care what a light costs.
Nothing left to guess
Every dimension, bulb, IP rating and install note published before you buy — you and your electrician know exactly what arrives.
The spec sheet is the love letter.
Backed, properly
Two-year warranty as standard, 30-day returns. If something isn’t right, we’d rather know — and put it right.
A fitting should outlast the fashion that chose it.
