Does the Tsumi pendant light require an electrician to install?
Yes, the Tsumi is hardwired and must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK Building Regulations Part P. The fitting connects directly to your mains supply via a ceiling rose or junction box, so it's not a plug-in fixture. Installation is rated as easy for a competent electrician, and it's suitable for plasterboard, timber joist, or concrete ceilings.
What bulbs do I need for this pendant and are they included?
You'll need two E27 (Edison screw) bulbs with a maximum wattage of 12W each—bulbs are not included. For best results with the travertine and wood design, consider warm white LED bulbs (2700K–3000K). If you want dimming functionality, make sure to choose dimmable E27 LED bulbs and pair them with a trailing edge dimmer switch.
Can the Tsumi travertine pendant be dimmed?
Yes, the fitting itself is dimmable, but you'll need to install dimmable E27 bulbs and fit a trailing edge dimmer switch on your lighting circuit. Standard non-dimmable bulbs will not dim and may flicker or fail if used with a dimmer. Always check that your chosen bulbs are explicitly marked as dimmable.
What are the dimensions and is the drop height adjustable?
The Tsumi measures 400mm wide and has a maximum drop of 1500mm from ceiling to the bottom of the shades. The cable length is 1.5 metres and the height is adjustable, so your electrician can shorten the suspension during installation to suit lower ceilings or your preferred drop over a dining table or kitchen island.
Is this pendant suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use?
No, the Tsumi is rated IP20 and designed for indoor use only in dry environments. It's not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms, or any outdoor locations. The IP20 rating means it has no moisture protection, so it's best suited to living rooms, dining areas, bedrooms, or kitchens away from direct water exposure.
What warranty does the Tsumi pendant come with?
This pendant light comes with a 2-year manufacturer's warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. It's CE marked and RoHS compliant, meeting UK safety and environmental standards. Keep your proof of purchase in case you need to make a claim during the warranty period.
