Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Yes, the Stainless is a hardwired wall light and must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK Part P Building Regulations. The unit connects directly to your mains electrical supply at 230V and requires proper mounting to an outdoor-rated wall surface with appropriate cabling and weatherproofing.
Is this bulkhead light suitable for exposed outdoor locations in the rain?
Yes, with an IP44 rating, this fitting is protected against splashing water from any direction, making it suitable for covered porches, carports, and locations with some overhead protection. It's not fully waterproof (which would require IP65 or higher), so it's best positioned under eaves or canopies rather than in fully exposed locations subject to driving rain.
What bulb do I need for this outdoor wall light and is one included?
This fitting requires one E27 ES (Edison Screw) bulb with a maximum wattage of 60W, which is not included. You can use traditional incandescent, halogen, LED, or energy-saving bulbs in E27 fitting, allowing you to choose your preferred brightness and colour temperature to suit your outdoor space.
Can this bulkhead light be used with a dimmer switch?
Dimming capability depends entirely on the bulb you choose, not the fitting itself. If you install a dimmable LED or halogen E27 bulb and have a compatible dimmer switch on the circuit, the light can be dimmed. The fitting itself has no restrictions on dimming.
