Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Does the Kiro ceramic wall light need to be installed by an electrician?
Yes, the Kiro is hardwired and must be connected directly to your mains electrical supply. Under UK Building Regulations Part P, all fixed wiring in bathrooms and new circuits elsewhere must be installed or certified by a qualified electrician. Most electricians will expect a BESA box or backplate behind the fitting for mounting.
Can I use a dimmer switch with this wall light?
Yes, the Kiro is dimmable, but you'll need to fit a dimmable G9 bulb and ensure your dimmer switch is compatible with the bulb type you choose. LED G9 bulbs typically require a trailing-edge dimmer rather than older leading-edge models. Check your bulb packaging and dimmer compatibility to avoid flickering.
What type of bulb does the Kiro take and is one included?
The Kiro uses a single G9 capsule bulb, which is not included and must be purchased separately. G9 bulbs are widely available in LED, with typical wattages between 3W and 5W for LEDs. Choose your preferred colour temperature (warm white around 2700K is most popular for living spaces) and ensure it's dimmable if you're using a dimmer switch.
What are the dimensions of the small Rainstorm Grey Kiro wall light?
The small Kiro measures 205mm wide, 165mm high, and projects 120mm from the wall. It weighs 700g, making it suitable for most solid wall types with appropriate fixings. The compact size works well in hallways, beside beds, or flanking mirrors and artwork.
Can this wall light be used in a bathroom?
No, the Kiro has an IP20 rating, meaning it offers no protection against moisture and is only suitable for dry interior locations. For bathrooms, you need a minimum of IP44 (ideally IP65 for zones 1 and 2), so this fitting should be reserved for hallways, living rooms, bedrooms, and other dry areas.
Does the Kiro provide direct task lighting or is it just ambient?
The Kiro's cone-shaped shade is designed to wash light up and down the wall rather than project it into the room, making it primarily an ambient or accent light. It creates a soft, glare-free glow that's ideal for atmospheric lighting in hallways or flanking a bed, but it won't provide focused task lighting for reading or workspaces.
