What bulbs do I need for the Kyoto three-light pendant?
You'll need three E27 screw-in bulbs, which are not included with the fitting. Each bulb should be a maximum of 12 watts — ideal for modern LED bulbs that give plenty of light at low wattage. For best results with the natural travertine and wood finish, consider warm white LEDs (2700K–3000K) to enhance the earthy tones.
Can this pendant light be dimmed?
Yes, the Kyoto is dimmable when fitted with dimmable E27 bulbs. You'll need to install a trailing edge dimmer switch to control the brightness smoothly without flickering. Make sure both the bulbs and dimmer are compatible — check the bulb packaging confirms they're dimmable and suitable for trailing edge dimmers.
Do I need an electrician to install this pendant light?
Yes, an electrician is required for installation as this is a hardwired pendant light. Under Part P of the Building Regulations in England and Wales, new lighting circuits or additions must be installed by a qualified person, though a competent person can replace an existing fitting on the same circuit. The fitting is rated as easy to install once wiring is in place and is suitable for plasterboard, timber joist, or concrete ceilings.
What are the dimensions and is the height adjustable?
The pendant measures 290mm in diameter and has a total drop of 1300mm from ceiling to base. The height is adjustable via the 1.3-metre cable, so you can shorten it during installation to suit your ceiling height and room layout. This makes it versatile for standard or higher ceilings, particularly over dining tables or kitchen islands.
Is this pendant suitable for bathrooms?
No, this fitting is rated IP20 and is suitable for indoor dry locations only. IP20 provides no protection against moisture, so it's not safe for bathrooms where higher IP ratings (at least IP44 for zone 2 and 3) are required. Stick to living rooms, dining rooms, hallways, and bedrooms for this pendant.
What warranty does this pendant come with?
The Kyoto pendant light comes with a 2-year manufacturer's warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty applies from the date of purchase and is subject to normal domestic use and proper installation by a qualified electrician. Bulbs are consumable items and are not covered under the warranty.
