Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Questions
Does the Oslo ceiling light need to be installed by an electrician?
Yes, the Oslo is hardwired and must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK Building Regulations Part P. It connects directly to your mains ceiling circuit, typically via a BESA box or ceiling rose. Installation involves isolating the circuit, securing the backplate to the ceiling, and making the electrical connections according to the provided instructions.
What type of bulb does this fitting take and is it included?
The Oslo takes a single E27 screw bulb with a maximum wattage of 11W, which is not included. We recommend using an LED E27 bulb for energy efficiency—an 11W LED typically produces around 1000-1100 lumens, equivalent to an old 75W incandescent. Choose a warm white (2700K-3000K) to complement the forest green shade and natural wood base.
Can the Oslo semi-flush light be dimmed?
Yes, the Oslo is dimmable when fitted with a compatible dimmable E27 bulb. You'll need to install a trailing edge dimmer switch to control the light level smoothly without flickering. Both the dimmer and the bulb must be dimmable—standard non-dimmable LED bulbs will not work with a dimmer circuit.
What are the dimensions and how far does it hang from the ceiling?
The Oslo measures 300mm in diameter and has a total height of 180mm from the ceiling to the bottom of the shade. As a semi-flush fitting, it sits close to the ceiling, making it ideal for rooms with lower ceilings or spaces where a full pendant would hang too low, such as hallways, landings, or compact bedrooms.
Is this light suitable for bathroom use?
No, the Oslo has an IP20 rating, which means it offers no protection against moisture and is only suitable for dry indoor areas. It cannot be safely installed in bathrooms or any zone-rated areas where water or steam is present. For bathrooms, you would need a light with a minimum rating of IP44 or higher depending on the zone.
Which rooms work best with this single-bulb ceiling light?
With one E27 lampholder accepting up to 11W (roughly 1000 lumens with LED), the Oslo works well as primary lighting in smaller spaces like hallways, landings, cloakrooms, or cosy bedrooms up to around 10-12 square metres. In larger kitchens or living rooms, it's better suited as accent or secondary lighting rather than the main source, or consider installing multiple fittings for adequate coverage.
The Enso Standard
Anyone can sell you a light.
We’d rather sell you the right one.
Lighting, considered.
Chosen, not stocked
For every piece here, we passed on hundreds. If a fitting doesn’t earn its place, it isn’t here.
Curation is mostly the art of saying no.
Held to one standard
Copenhagen brass or precision-built LED — every piece is vetted the same way: finish, build, light quality, safety. If it doesn’t pass, it doesn’t stay.
The standard doesn’t care what a light costs.
Nothing left to guess
Every dimension, bulb, IP rating and install note published before you buy — you and your electrician know exactly what arrives.
The spec sheet is the love letter.
Backed, properly
Two-year warranty as standard, 30-day returns. If something isn’t right, we’d rather know — and put it right.
A fitting should outlast the fashion that chose it.
