Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Questions
Does the Kaia curved stone-effect pendant require an electrician to install?
Yes, this fitting is hardwired and must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK Building Regulations Part P. The pendant connects directly to your mains ceiling wiring, typically via a BESA box or ceiling rose, and because it's Class I it requires an earth connection. While the installation itself is straightforward, legal compliance and safety require professional installation.
Can I dim this pendant light and what type of dimmer do I need?
Yes, the Kaia is dimmable provided you fit a dimmable E27 bulb (not included). You'll need a trailing edge dimmer switch installed to control the light output smoothly. Both the dimmer and the bulb must be compatible—standard non-dimmable LED bulbs will not dim and may flicker or fail.
What size bulb does this pendant take and what's the maximum wattage?
This fitting takes a standard E27 screw bulb (Edison Screw) with a maximum wattage of 7W, which is typical for modern LED bulbs. The bulb is not included, so you'll need to purchase a separate E27 LED—we'd recommend choosing your preferred colour temperature (warm white 2700K for cosy spaces, or cool white 4000K for task lighting) and ensuring it's dimmable if you plan to use a dimmer switch.
What are the dimensions and how low will it hang from my ceiling?
The shade measures 40 cm wide and 36 cm deep, making it a substantial statement piece suitable for medium to large rooms. The cable length is 2 metres, which gives you flexibility to adjust the drop height during installation—your electrician can shorten this to suit your ceiling height and ensure the pendant hangs at your preferred level above a dining table or kitchen island.
Can I use this pendant light in a bathroom?
No, this pendant has an IP20 rating, which means it's not protected against moisture and is only suitable for dry indoor locations. Bathrooms require higher IP ratings depending on the zone—typically IP44 or above near showers and baths—so the Kaia should be used in living rooms, dining areas, bedrooms, or hallways instead.
What warranty does this light come with and is it CE marked?
The Kaia pendant comes with a 2-year warranty covering manufacturing defects and is both CE marked and RoHS compliant, meeting UK and EU safety and environmental standards. If you experience any faults within the warranty period, contact EnsoLight with your proof of purchase for support.
The Enso Standard
Anyone can sell you a light.
We’d rather sell you the right one.
Lighting, considered.
Chosen, not stocked
For every piece here, we passed on hundreds. If a fitting doesn’t earn its place, it isn’t here.
Curation is mostly the art of saying no.
Held to one standard
Copenhagen brass or precision-built LED — every piece is vetted the same way: finish, build, light quality, safety. If it doesn’t pass, it doesn’t stay.
The standard doesn’t care what a light costs.
Nothing left to guess
Every dimension, bulb, IP rating and install note published before you buy — you and your electrician know exactly what arrives.
The spec sheet is the love letter.
Backed, properly
Two-year warranty as standard, 30-day returns. If something isn’t right, we’d rather know — and put it right.
A fitting should outlast the fashion that chose it.
