Product Care Guide

Plaster

Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.

Brass & metal

Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.

Glass

Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.

Fabric shades

Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.

Ceramic

Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.

Before you clean

Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Questions

Does the Kiro Burnt Orange wall light need to be installed by an electrician?

Yes. The Kiro is hardwired, meaning it connects directly to your mains wiring rather than plugging into a socket. Under Part P of the Building Regulations in England and Wales, fixed lighting installations must be carried out by a qualified electrician or certified under a competent person scheme. Most installations will also require connection to a standard wall-mounted BESA box or backplate.

What type of bulb does the Kiro ceramic wall light use and is it included?

The Kiro uses a single G9 capsule bulb, which is not included with the fitting. G9 bulbs are widely available in various wattages and colour temperatures — we recommend a warm white (2700K-3000K) G9 LED for the best ambience with the Burnt Orange ceramic finish. Make sure the bulb wattage doesn't exceed the fitting's maximum rating.

Can the Kiro wall light be used with a dimmer switch?

Yes, the Kiro is dimmable, but you'll need to ensure both your dimmer switch and your G9 bulb are compatible. Use a trailing-edge dimmer designed for LED loads if you're fitting an LED G9 bulb, as older leading-edge dimmers can cause flickering or poor performance. Always check the bulb packaging confirms it's dimmable before purchasing.

What are the dimensions of the large Burnt Orange Kiro wall light?

The large Kiro measures 235mm wide, 200mm tall, and projects 135mm from the wall. At 900g it's relatively lightweight for a ceramic fitting, but you'll still want to ensure it's fixed securely to a solid wall or into a suitable mounting box. The cone-shaped shade creates an upward and downward wash of light rather than projecting forward into the room.

Is the Kiro suitable for bathroom use?

No. The Kiro has an IP20 rating, which means it offers no protection against moisture and is only suitable for dry indoor environments. For bathroom installation you'd need a minimum of IP44 (or IP65 for shower zones), so this fitting should be kept to living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, and other non-humid spaces.

Does the Kiro wall light cast light into the room or just wash the wall?

The Kiro is designed primarily as a wall-washing fixture. Its cone-shaped ceramic shade directs light both upwards and downwards along the wall surface, creating ambient background lighting rather than task or directional light. This makes it ideal for mood lighting, hallways, or flanking a bed or mirror, but it won't provide focused illumination for reading or detailed tasks.

The Enso Standard

Anyone can sell you a light.
We’d rather sell you the right one.

Lighting, considered.

01

Chosen, not stocked

For every piece here, we passed on hundreds. If a fitting doesn’t earn its place, it isn’t here.

Curation is mostly the art of saying no.

02

From Europe’s quiet workshops

Copenhagen brass, Milanese plaster, hand-woven French rattan — small independent design houses, named by place, plainly.

Designed in Europe. Named honestly.

03

Nothing left to guess

Every dimension, bulb, IP rating and install note published before you buy — you and your electrician know exactly what arrives.

The spec sheet is the love letter.

04

Backed, properly

Two-year warranty as standard, 30-day returns. If something isn’t right, we’d rather know — and put it right.

A fitting should outlast the fashion that chose it.
