Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Questions
Does the Kiro Ceramic Wall Light need to be installed by an electrician?
Yes, the Kiro is hardwired directly into your mains wiring and must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK Building Regulations Part P. The fitting connects to a standard BESA box or backplate and requires permanent 230V mains connection. You cannot simply plug this light in — it's a fixed installation that typically replaces an existing wall light.
Can I use a dimmer switch with this black ceramic wall light?
Yes, the Kiro is dimmable, but you'll need to fit a compatible G9 LED bulb (not included) and ensure your dimmer switch is designed for LED loads. Not all dimmer switches work well with LED bulbs, so check compatibility to avoid flickering. Traditional incandescent or halogen G9 bulbs will also dim without issue if you prefer warmer, more reliable dimming performance.
What size G9 bulb fits the Kiro wall light?
The Kiro takes a single standard G9 capsule bulb with a maximum recommended wattage shown on the fitting (typically 40W for halogen or equivalent LED). Choose a compact G9 LED of around 3–5W for energy efficiency, ensuring it fits within the ceramic cone shade. Avoid oversized G9 bulbs with large heat sinks, as the 135mm depth may not accommodate bulkier LED designs.
Can this wall light be used in a bathroom?
No, the Kiro has an IP20 rating, meaning it's not protected against moisture and is only suitable for dry indoor areas. For bathrooms, you would need a fitting rated IP44 or higher depending on the zone. This wall light is ideal for hallways, living rooms, bedrooms, or dining areas where no moisture is present.
How big is the large Kiro wall light?
The large Kiro measures 235mm wide, 200mm tall, and projects 135mm from the wall. At 900g it's relatively lightweight despite being solid ceramic, but you'll still want to ensure it's fixed securely into a solid wall or stud. The cone shape means it occupies visual space above and below the mounting point, so allow at least 250–300mm of clear wall height for best effect.
What kind of light does this ceramic wall light produce?
The Kiro casts light both upward and downward through its cone-shaped shade, creating a soft wash on the wall rather than projecting light into the room. The quality and colour temperature of the light depend entirely on your choice of G9 bulb — opt for 2700K for warm white or 3000K for neutral white. Because the light is indirect and glare-free, it works beautifully for ambient or accent lighting rather than task lighting.
