Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Livigno wall light need to be installed by an electrician?
Yes, as this is a hardwired fitting, it must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK Building Regulations Part P. The installation itself is straightforward—the fitting mounts to plasterboard, brick or masonry walls—but mains electrical work requires professional certification for safety and legal compliance.
What type of bulbs does this wall light use and are they included?
The Livigno uses G9 capsule bulbs and requires two of them, with a maximum wattage of 25W each. Bulbs are not included with the fitting, so you'll need to purchase them separately. G9 LED bulbs are widely available and recommended for energy efficiency and longevity.
Can I dim the Livigno gold leaf wall light?
Yes, this wall light is dimmable when paired with a trailing edge dimmer switch and dimmable G9 bulbs. Trailing edge dimmers are specifically designed for LED bulbs and provide smooth, flicker-free dimming. You'll need to ensure both the dimmer switch and your chosen G9 bulbs are compatible with each other for best results.
What are the dimensions of this wall light?
The Livigno measures 390mm wide, 60mm high and 110mm deep, with a graceful oval crescent shape. It weighs just 730g, making it suitable for most wall types including plasterboard when properly fixed. The relatively shallow depth of 110mm means it won't protrude too far from the wall, ideal for hallways and smaller spaces.
Is this wall light suitable for bathrooms?
No, the Livigno has an IP20 rating, which means it offers no protection against moisture and is only suitable for dry indoor environments. For bathroom use, you would need a fitting with a minimum IP44 rating (IP65 for zones 1 and 2). This wall light is best suited to hallways, living rooms and bedrooms.
What colour temperature should I choose for the G9 bulbs?
The Livigno is designed for warm white bulbs, typically in the 2700K–3000K range, which creates a soft, welcoming glow that complements the gold leaf finish beautifully. Since the fitting casts light upwards, warm white enhances the intimate, cosy atmosphere without being too stark. Avoid cool white bulbs, as they would clash with the warm metallic aesthetic.
