Does the Suki Linen Pendant Light require an electrician to install?
Yes, this fitting is hardwired and must be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with UK Building Regulations Part P. The Suki is Class I (earthed) and mounts to a standard ceiling rose or BESA box. Installation is rated as easy for a professional, and it's suitable for plasterboard, timber joist, or concrete ceilings.
What type of bulb does the Suki pendant take and is it dimmable?
The Suki uses a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 12W maximum, which is not included. It is dimmable when fitted with a dimmable E27 bulb and controlled by a trailing edge dimmer switch. Both LED and traditional incandescent E27 bulbs are compatible, provided they don't exceed the 12W limit.
What are the dimensions of the 50 cm Suki pendant and how low does it hang?
The shade measures 50 cm wide by 35 cm deep, with a total drop height of 150 cm from ceiling to base. The cable length is 1.5 metres and the height is adjustable, so you can shorten it during installation to suit your ceiling height and table position.
Can I use the Suki Linen Pendant Light in a bathroom or kitchen?
The Suki is rated IP20, which means it's suitable only for dry indoor locations and not bathroom zones or areas exposed to moisture. It's ideal for dining rooms, living rooms, and bedrooms, but should not be installed in kitchens directly above hobs or sinks where steam or splashes are present.
How much light does this pendant give and what colour temperature should I choose?
Light output depends entirely on the E27 bulb you choose, as no bulb is included. For dining table use, a 6–10W LED bulb (around 470–806 lumens) in warm white (2700–3000K) works well, creating ambient lighting diffused softly through the linen fabric. The 12W maximum allows flexibility, but the linen panels naturally create a softer, diffused glow rather than task lighting.
