Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Yes, this fitting is hardwired and must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK Part P Building Regulations. The Kaia mounts directly to a ceiling rose or BESA box on suitable surfaces including plasterboard, timber joists, or concrete. The installation itself is straightforward, but legally and safely requires professional electrical work.
Can this pendant light be dimmed?
Yes, the Kaia is dimmable when fitted with a compatible dimmable E27 bulb (not included). You'll need a trailing edge dimmer switch installed to control the brightness smoothly. Standard non-dimmable bulbs will work but won't dim, so ensure you purchase a dimmable LED or filament bulb rated up to the 7W maximum.
What size bulb does the Kaia curved pendant take and is one included?
This fitting takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb with a maximum wattage of 7W, and no bulb is included. We recommend an LED bulb for energy efficiency—choose a warm white (2700K) for cosy ambience or daylight (4000K+) for task lighting. Make sure it's dimmable if you plan to use a dimmer switch.
How big is the Kaia pendant and how far does it hang from the ceiling?
The shade measures 60 cm wide and 55 cm deep, making it a substantial statement piece ideal for dining tables or spacious living areas. The adjustable cable is 2 metres long, allowing you to position the pendant at your preferred height—this can usually be shortened during installation if needed.
