Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Frequently Asked Questions
What type of bulb does the Ando Concrete Pendant Light take?
The Ando uses a standard E27 Edison screw bulb, which is the most common large screw fitting in the UK. You can use LED, halogen, or traditional incandescent bulbs up to the maximum wattage specified in the installation instructions. E27 bulbs are widely available and offer plenty of choice for colour temperature and brightness.
Can I install the Ando Concrete Pendant myself or do I need an electrician?
Installation of this ceiling pendant is notifiable electrical work under Part P of the Building Regulations in England and Wales, so you'll need a qualified electrician unless you're competent and registered to self-certify. The fitting connects to a standard ceiling rose or BESA box. Due to the concrete construction, ensure your ceiling can support the weight and that the installer uses appropriate fixings.
Is the Ando Concrete Pendant dimmable?
Dimming capability depends entirely on the bulb you choose, as the fitting itself is a simple pendant holder. If you want dimmable lighting, select a dimmable E27 LED bulb and ensure you have a compatible LED dimmer switch installed. Not all LED bulbs dim smoothly, so check the bulb specifications carefully.
Can I use the Ando pendant light in a bathroom?
No, the Ando has an IP20 rating, which means it's only suitable for dry indoor locations and offers no protection against moisture. For bathroom use, you'd need a minimum of IP44 (or IP65 for shower zones), so this fitting is not appropriate for bathrooms or any areas with high humidity.
What rooms is the Ando Natural Grey Concrete Pendant best suited for?
With its industrial concrete finish and bell shape, the Ando works well in kitchens over islands or breakfast bars, dining rooms, hallways, or as task lighting in home offices. The IP20 rating limits it to dry indoor spaces only. The natural grey concrete suits contemporary, Scandi, or industrial interior styles particularly well.
What are the dimensions of the Ando Concrete Pendant Light?
Specific dimensions aren't listed in the available specs, but concrete bell pendants of this type typically measure around 15-20cm in diameter. We recommend checking the product listing for exact measurements or contacting us before purchase if you need to ensure it fits a specific space. The cable length is usually adjustable during installation.
