Product Care Guide
Plaster
Dust with a soft, dry cloth only. Plaster is porous, so avoid all liquid cleaners — they'll stain or mark the surface. Raw plaster fittings can be painted: use a matte emulsion in two thin coats, allowing each to dry fully before powering on. Don't install in bathrooms or other damp areas unless the IP rating allows it.
Brass & metal
Brass develops a natural patina over time, which most people prefer. To keep the current finish, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. For a brighter look, use a brass-specific polish sparingly. Never use lemon, vinegar, or abrasive cleaners — these damage lacquered brass irreversibly. Polished chrome and nickel finishes can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth.
Glass
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly to avoid water marks. For stubborn marks, a mild glass cleaner is fine. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and fully cool before cleaning.
Fabric shades
Dust with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting using an upholstery attachment. Avoid wet cleaning — fabric shades can stain, warp, or shrink. Spot-clean small marks only with a barely-damp microfibre cloth.
Ceramic
Glazed ceramic can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Unglazed or matte ceramic should be kept dry and dusted only. Always ensure the fitting is switched off and cool first.
Before you clean
Switch off at the wall and let the fitting cool fully. Never spray cleaner directly onto a fitting — apply to a cloth first. If your fitting has visible wiring, electrical components, or LED drivers exposed, keep moisture well away from these areas.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Ando concrete pendant light require an electrician to install?
Yes, as this is a hardwired pendant light, installation must comply with UK Building Regulations Part P. Unless you are a qualified person competent in electrical work, you'll need to hire a registered electrician to connect it safely to your ceiling rose or junction box. The fitting comes with a 1.29m cable that will need to be hardwired into your mains supply.
Can this concrete pendant be used with a dimmer switch?
Yes, the Ando is dimmable, but you'll need to fit a dimmable E27 bulb to achieve this. Ensure your dimmer switch is compatible with the type of bulb you choose—LED bulbs require an LED-compatible dimmer, while halogen or incandescent bulbs work with traditional dimmers. The fitting itself supports dimming functionality when paired correctly.
What type of bulb does the Ando concrete pendant take and is one included?
This pendant uses a single E27 ES (Edison Screw) bulb, which is not included with the fitting. You'll need to purchase an E27 bulb separately—we recommend choosing an LED bulb for energy efficiency, and ensure it's dimmable if you plan to use a dimmer switch.
What are the dimensions and weight of this cylindrical concrete pendant?
The Ando has a diameter of 100mm (10cm) and weighs 790g, making it a compact and relatively lightweight concrete pendant. With a cable length of 1.29m, it's suitable for standard ceiling heights and works well over kitchen islands, dining tables, or as a feature light in smaller spaces.
Can I use the Ando concrete pendant in a bathroom?
No, this pendant has an IP20 rating, which means it's only protected against solid objects larger than 12.5mm and has no water resistance. IP20-rated fittings are not suitable for bathrooms and must be kept away from zones where moisture is present. It's designed for dry indoor areas only.
How much light output can I expect from this pendant?
The light output depends entirely on the E27 bulb you choose, as no bulb is included. For general room lighting, a 600-800 lumen LED bulb (equivalent to a 60W incandescent) is typical, while 400-500 lumens suits ambient or task lighting. Consider the colour temperature too—2700K gives a warm white glow, while 4000K provides a cooler, more neutral light.
